Howdy!

Picture
My name is Morgan Manasa (that's me to the left!) and I'm a fiber artist and actor in Chicago. I have exhibited work at IAEOU at the Hubbard Street Lofts and Art Whino gallery in Maryland, been featured on the Mr. X Stitch blog, recorded a podcast for HelloCraft.com on crochet and filmed an episode for Threadbanger.com. I'm a company member and the coordinator for the Joining Sword & Pen Writing/Art Competition with Babes With Blades Theatre Company and former Managing Director and a Founding Member of Focal Point Theatre Company.  You can learn more about my theatre antics here.

I have always felt compelled to make art. When I was little, growing up in the Metro-Detroit area, my mom taught me how to crochet which turned me onto other techniques like embroidery and sewing, which I mostly learned without formal training.

The older I get the more meaning and challenges I find in my work, the connection to family and experiences that have brought me to this point in time.
Handmade items have always given me a great satisfaction that only building and creating with my hands can give. The basis of my work comes from the need for connection to loved ones and the nostalgic experiences that shape us into who we are. In other words, I'm interested in exploring the fiber between us.

Sometimes folks ask me if I do custom orders and the answer is: Yes! Email me and let's chat!
